I’m Ellen Schwerin, MPH, IBCLC, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, small business owner, ceramicist, choral singer, and mom.

In my 14+ years of experience, I have found that parents have the most successful lactation experiences when we work together before the baby arrives, so I encourage you to contact me for a prenatal consultation (and then I’ll meet with you and your baby soon after birth). I also work with families with babies 1 day to 6 weeks old, and have limited room in my schedule for older babies.

I provide caring and expert lactation & infant feeding health through home visits in the following SF East Bay cities: Berkeley, Oakland, Emeryville, Alameda, Orinda, Moraga, Lafayette. And virtual consultations anywhere! I love providing a safe environment and supporting diverse families, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Besides taking self-pay clients and being in-network with Aetna & Meritain PPO insurance plans, I’m also contracted with Wildflower Health for Cigna PPO plans and the Anthem Virtual Lactation Program, as well as The Lactation Network for PPO plans such as Curative Health, First Choice Health, Multiplan, PNOA, Sutter Health, United Health Care, Velocity PPO.
